Clinical Pilates

In 2012, after the birth of her second son, Janine became certified in Pilates. Through both personal and clinical experience, she felt that this was the missing link in restoring the core by increasing body awareness and re-training muscle patterns. Clinical Pilates is an integral part of the rehabilitation process in Australia and again, she wanted to incorporate this into her practice to “bridge” the gap between 1:1 physiotherapy and the return to sport and activity.
Janine offers one-to-one Pilates on the mat and the Reformer at both the Mountaineers Business Centre and at Four Peaks Pilates locations.  The Reformer is a specialized piece of equipment that strengthens the body while keeping the spine long. Using the equipment helps to recruit the correct muscles, while giving proprioceptive feedback to develop proper motor patterns.

An initial assessment is required prior to starting Clinical Pilates sessions with Janine. This allows us to tailor the program specifically to the individual and progress at the individual’s level.

*Please note that a physiotherapy assessment is required prior to commencing a Clinical Pilates program. This is to ensure that any specific issues have been addressed prior to your first session. Clinical Pilates sessions will be billed under Clinical Pilates/Physiotherapy services and may be covered by your insurance company.  Please check with your individual provider.
